I'm just throwing a few cents in here: Even though the info above is right from the Mazda manual, the size limit on files in a single folder is evidently inaccurate. I have a USB drive with about 6,000 tracks on it and there are a number of folders that contain more than 255 playable files.
Involves replacing the Bluetooth module which fixes a few things including not starting at the beginning of the file list every time the car is started. Take it to a dealership. You have to make sure the USB drive is formatted correctly, or it won't rear the files. It has to formatted to FAT32, EXFAT may work as well.

Thanks! If you're talking about a Mazda 2 with MZD Connect, the SD card is only for the nav system. You'll have to use the USB ports, Bluetooth, or the aux jack for audio. Use the USB. I bought one of these jawns and filled it with all of my music and just keep it plugged in all the time.

Jun 4, 2021. #3. Hi, today it happened to me too! Stopped working, the console USB, not charging or connecting to Apple Car Play. The other port worked fine. After a whileā¦An hour or soā¦It began to work once again. Will bring the car to the dealer for scanning. I have had the car for 2 weeks also, it is a 2022 model.
A not properly connected connector at the back of the MZD/CMU could lead to your DTC number - see here and post here. But I also heard about some broken USB modules, which had to be replaced.
